Mercer Island Center for the Arts

The project for MICA (Mercer Island Center for the Arts) aimed to establish a brand platform and visual identity reflecting its mission as a cultural hub on Mercer Island. The work included defining a brand essence of Catalyst and crafting a positioning statement centered on MICA as a nexus for arts that inspires, connects, and transforms.

The proposed identity emphasized MICA's ambition to invigorate the community, foster connections, and establish Mercer Island as a vibrant destination. Personality traits—extroverted, artistic, modern, transformational, and imaginative—guided the tone and visual language, ensuring inclusivity and authenticity.

While the project ultimately did not come to fruition, the strategic groundwork and nearly approved identity were designed to embody MICA’s vision of being a catalyst for creativity and community transformation. As design director and designer, I led these efforts to shape MICA's bold narrative.
